Chonnie has two daughters of her own in the school district. One is finishing her last year at AES. So, when asked why she volunteers even though she has her own children, she said that she feels it is so important to model the love of learning to kids. Her own two daughters love to read and she wanted to give back to other kids as well. She hopes kids are learning that reading is used in just about every aspect of your life. Chonnie has also volunteered over the years with our Junior Great Books program. She is most passionate about seeing her own kids grow up to be great people and exposing them to the rest of the world. She and her family travel to Italy every year and have lots of friends there! She (humbly) shared that one of her best character traits is helping people who are less fortunate. When Chonnie is not volunteering or with her family, she also runs her gardening and home management business. She has done this since the early '90s. Chonnie has lived in Aspen for 26 years, she came for a visit and ended up staying! Thank you for your dedication to Read with Me, Chonnie!
